The oval shakudo tsuba with a kogai and kozuka hitsu-ana, applied in gold, silver, and shakudo takazogan with an Ise-ebi (spiny lobster) along with further New Year decorations and sacred shimenawa. Signed to the reverse HAMANO NAOHIRO and kakihan.

Condition: Very good condition with minor wear.
With a wood tomobako storage box applied with a Japanese label.
The artist and his characteristic kakihan (artist's cursive monogram) are listed in the Haynes Index of Japanese Sword Fittings and Associated Artists on p. 1318 (H 06628.0). He made inlays in the classic Hamano style, such as on the present piece.
