A POTTERY FIGURE OF A GUARD, HAN DYNASTY
China, Han Dynasty (206 BC-220 AD). The figure standing and wearing a robe with long sleeves, with one arm raised and painted in red and black over white slip. With a plexiglass stand.
Condition:
Good condition, commensurate with age, with repairs as expected from Han dynasty excavations. Wear to the pigments, encrustations, and minor chips.
Provenance:
German private collection, acquired at Galerie Zacke. A copy of the certificate (including various TL tests from samples taken from other pottery guardians, offered at the time) issued in the year 2000 by Galerie Zacke accompanies this lot.
